Job Opportunities and Working at Deepdale Backpackers & Camping

Job Opportunities

Deepdale Backpackers & Camping returned to the original creators in early October 2016.† Managing Director Jason Borthwick and Operations Director Chris Haycock are looking for additional members of the team to help run the campsite, backpackers hostel, group hostel and visitor information centre.

We have had a great first year rebuilding the business, and are realising our vision of a great place to stay, to visit and explore all that the North Norfolk Coast has to offer.  Whether it be camping, touring in a camper van, grabbing a bunk in our backpackers hostel, or going up market in a private ensuite room, we aim to offer high quality, eco-friendly, exceptional value accommodation, combined with friendly, welcoming and helpful service.

We are looking for extra members of our crew, people who are passionate about customer service and creating a fantastic place to stay.† There will be the day to day running of the facilities, with many opportunities to develop additional projects within the business including festivals, activities, courses, regular events and bike hire.

Working at Deepdale will be varied, interesting, sometimes challenging, but definitely not boring.† And the North Norfolk Coast is a superb place to work, live and play.† At Deepdale we look for inspiration far beyond the beautiful coastline and countryside on our doorstep, and are looking for crew members who both bring inspiration and ideas with them, but also want to discover more about themselves, the area and the wider world.

At Deepdale we are committed to the Real Living Wage and are currently working on accreditation from the Living Wage Foundation.

Cleaners and Housekeepers

We are currently looking for part time housekeepers to work from mid morning to early afternoon.  Please let us know if this is of interest.

Housekeepers help us run the facilities throughout the year.  We are interested in people keen to join a friendly team, who want to develop their skills and work to develop the business over the next few years.

Seasonal staff will be considered, so if you'd like to mix a Winter of travel or study with a Summer working on the North Norfolk Coast then we would still like to hear from you - Perfect for university or college students.

We believe in a professional, but relaxed, welcoming atmosphere at work.† Everyone in the team is responsible for customer service and for the product we supply.

We are looking for applicants who have experience in the tourism industry.† It would be useful for applicants to have specific backpacking and camping experience, but this isnít vital.† Customer service experience is essential.

All our staff are expected to get their hands dirty, both metaphorically and physically, getting involved with all aspects of running the accommodation and other activities.† Staffing is organised by rota.

Housekeepers will primarily be in charge of looking after the backpackers hostel, groups hostel and campsite, but will also be involved in some reception work and running events & activities.

We'll decide on pay and housing, depending on the experience and skills of the person we offer the job to.

We are holding interviews on Tuesday 3rd and Thursday 5th July, so applications must be made before then, and we will be in touch to invite suitable candidates for interview.

To apply please fill out the application form below.† (Please note that this is the only way applications may be submitted)

Tourism Assistants

We are looking for new members of the team to join us in the run up to the new season, so they are ready and trained for the busy season ahead.

Tourism Assistants help us run the facilities throughout the year.  We are interested in people keen to join a friendly team, who want to develop their skills and work to develop the business over the next few years.

Evening Assistants

We aren't currently looking for anyone for this role.

The key role is to keep the campsite calm in the evenings and to make sure the facilities run smoothly.  You'll also be dealing with late arrivals for both the backpackers hostel and campsite, checking them in and showing them their room or pitch.

Standard hours would be to start at 5pm and work until the customers have returned from the pub and settled, somewhere between 12.30pm and 2am.

This role would suit someone with a more mature and calm outlook on life. We aren't looking a strict security style Night Assistant, just someone who is happy chatting with customers, gentling asking for noise to be reduced and smoothing the evening running.

Naturally anyone who was offered this role would be given suitable training in the booking system, the systems of the site and the way we like to handle customer service at Deepdale Backpackers & Camping.

Seasonal staff will be considered, so if you'd like to mix a Winter of travel or study with a Summer working on the North Norfolk Coast then we would still like to hear from you - Perfect for university or college students.

We feel this role would suit someone who lived no further than 25 miles from Burnham Deepdale, as that person would then know the local area reasonably well. Unfortunately we can't offer accommodation with this role.

We believe in a professional, but relaxed, welcoming atmosphere at work.† Everyone in the team is responsible for customer service and for the product we supply.

Experience in the tourism industry isn't necessarily needed, but experience with customers service would be helpful. The most important thing is a friendly positive outlook on life.

We'll decide on pay depending on the experience and skills of the person we offer the job to.

There is no set application date.  We will add new members to the team as suitable applicants apply.

To apply please fill out the application form below.† (Please note that this is the only way applications may be submitted)
